About
I am an educational scientist and former primary school teacher. Since 2015, I have been dealing with digital media not only in my free time and in the classroom, but also in the training and further education of teachers and in research.
As a permanent senior lecturer at the Center for Media Education and Computer Science at the Zurich University of Teacher Education, I develop and lead programs for schools, teachers and students. I give lectures, develop materials and conduct research. In addition to general media didactics, my main areas of focus are artificial intelligence, making and virtual reality – always with a focus on education. I am chair of the Conference Teaching With New Media (UNM) and on the program committee of the Rigi Conference on the didactics of computer science and the Constructionism 2025.
As an advanced researcher at the Center for Education and Digital Change, I am working on the DEEP Professionalization on questions of educational equity in the digital transformation in Primary Schools and am on the organizing committee of the Media Didactics 2025 conference.
In addition, I am involved in various functions in a range of offers and collaborations at the university, particularly in the fields of media and computer science with a focus on didactics, digital transformation and equal opportunities. I am co-head of the computer science professional group and on the board of the university assembly. From 2019 to 2024, I was also a didactic expert and researcher at mint & pepper and CYBATHLON at ETH Zurich.
As an elected member of the Zurzach District School Board, I am jointly responsible for deciding on appeals against decisions made by the local authorities in the field of education.
I’m a passionate family man, happily married to my wife Céline, and together we have two children and two cats. In my spare time, I enjoy running, cycling and reading, though I also cherish the occasional gaming session.
